From the sweeping plains of the Maasai Mara to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and the elephant country of Amboseli, a cross-border safari allows you to experience the extraordinary diversity of East Africa.

Felessy Tours & Safaris plans personalised Kenya–Tanzania safari itineraries around your travel dates, preferred destinations, accommodation level and available time, creating a carefully coordinated journey through two of Africa's greatest safari countries.

The Icons of East Africa

Where Can You Go on a Kenya Tanzania Safari?

The strongest combined itineraries bring together complementary wildlife areas in Kenya and northern Tanzania, giving each stage of the journey its own landscape and character.

Kenya

Maasai Mara

Kenya's legendary Maasai Mara is renowned for exceptional predator sightings, vast savannah landscapes and its role in the Great Wildebeest Migration. It combines naturally with Tanzania's Serengeti ecosystem.

Tanzania

Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti is one of Africa's greatest wildlife landscapes. Its enormous plains support abundant wildlife throughout the year and form the Tanzanian heart of the Great Migration.

Tanzania

Ngorongoro Crater

Descend into one of Africa's most remarkable natural wildlife environments. The Ngorongoro Crater offers extraordinary scenery and excellent opportunities to see a wide variety of animals within a relatively compact area.

Kenya

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli is celebrated for its large elephant herds and spectacular views towards Mount Kilimanjaro. Its southern Kenya location makes it especially useful in selected cross-border safari routes.

Tanzania

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire adds another distinctive landscape to northern Tanzania itineraries, with baobab trees, elephants and seasonal concentrations of wildlife along the Tarangire River.

Tanzania

Lake Manyara & Northern Circuit

Lake Manyara and the surrounding northern safari circuit can be incorporated according to the length and route of your itinerary, complementing Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire.

Experience the Great Migration Across Two Countries

The Great Wildebeest Migration is a continuous natural movement through the greater Serengeti–Mara ecosystem rather than an event that takes place in only one park. Depending on the season, large herds may be concentrated in different parts of Tanzania or Kenya.

A well-planned Kenya and Tanzania safari therefore provides exceptional flexibility for travellers interested in experiencing the landscapes and wildlife associated with this extraordinary ecosystem.

The Best of Both Countries

Kenya & Tanzania in One Safari

Safari Highlights in Kenya

Kenya contributes some of East Africa's most famous safari landscapes and can form either the beginning or final part of your combined journey.

  • Maasai Mara wildlife and predators
  • Amboseli elephants and Kilimanjaro views
  • Great Rift Valley landscapes
  • Private safari extensions
  • Option to continue to Kenya's coast

Safari Highlights in Tanzania

Northern Tanzania adds immense wilderness, volcanic landscapes and some of Africa's most celebrated national parks.

  • Serengeti National Park
  • Ngorongoro Crater
  • Tarangire National Park
  • Lake Manyara and the northern circuit
  • Seasonal Great Migration regions
Give East Africa the Time It Deserves

How Long Should a Kenya Tanzania Safari Be?

Because you are combining two countries and several wildlife regions, these itineraries generally benefit from more time than a single-destination safari.

7–8 Days Essential Combination

Suitable for a carefully selected combination of major highlights when your available holiday time is limited.

9–12 Days Classic East Africa

Allows more destinations and a better balance between game viewing, travelling and overnight stays.

13+ Days Grand East African Safari

Ideal for travellers wanting a deeper journey through both countries or a safari followed by time on the Kenyan coast.

Seamless Cross-Border Safari Planning

A two-country safari requires more coordination than a conventional single-country itinerary. We plan the route around the selected parks, border arrangements, accommodation, travel times and ground handling so that each part of your Kenya and Tanzania journey connects logically with the next.

Private Safari Experience

Our Kenya–Tanzania itineraries can be designed as private safari journeys for couples, families, friends and individual travellers. This allows the itinerary to be tailored around your preferred destinations, pace and accommodation rather than following a generic group schedule.

Safari Lodges & Tented Camps

Accommodation can range from comfortable mid-range safari camps and lodges to premium and luxury properties. We select accommodation according to your itinerary, travel dates, location, availability and preferred level of comfort.

Combine Your Safari with Diani Beach

Your East African journey does not have to end when the wildlife safari finishes. Selected itineraries can be planned to continue towards Kenya's coast, allowing you to relax at Diani Beach after exploring the national parks and reserves of Kenya and Tanzania.

One Coordinated Journey

What Can Your Kenya Tanzania Safari Include?

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenya Tanzania Safaris

Can you combine Kenya and Tanzania in one safari?

Yes. Kenya and northern Tanzania can be combined into one coordinated safari itinerary, allowing travellers to experience destinations such as Maasai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Amboseli and Tarangire during the same East African journey.

How many days do I need for Kenya and Tanzania?

The ideal duration depends on the number of parks you want to visit. Around 9 to 12 days provides greater flexibility for a classic multi-destination journey, while longer itineraries allow a more relaxed pace.

Which is better for safari, Kenya or Tanzania?

Both countries offer exceptional but different safari experiences. Combining them allows you to experience the Maasai Mara and Amboseli in Kenya alongside destinations such as Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire in Tanzania.

Can I see the Great Migration in Kenya and Tanzania?

The migration moves through the greater Serengeti–Mara ecosystem throughout the year. Where the largest concentrations are found varies according to season and natural conditions, so itineraries should be planned around your travel dates rather than assuming the herds remain in one location.

Can you arrange luxury Kenya Tanzania safaris?

Yes. The itinerary can be designed with premium safari camps and lodges according to your travel dates, preferred locations, budget and desired level of comfort.

Can I add a beach holiday after the safari?

Yes. Your itinerary can be planned to include a beach extension in Kenya after the wildlife safari, including Diani Beach where appropriate to your overall travel route.
