Tsavo West National Park: A Kaleidoscope of Ecosystems

Adjacent to Tsavo East, Tsavo West National Park is an equally captivating sanctuary that covers about 9,065 square kilometers. It's celebrated for its diverse ecosystems, dramatic landscapes, and rich wildlife.

Remarkable Terrain: Tsavo West is known for its dramatic red earth terrain, creating a surreal and otherworldly atmosphere. This unique landscape provides a stunning backdrop for your safari adventures.

Diverse Wildlife: Tsavo West is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of bird species. The park also features unique attractions like Mzima Springs, a crystal-clear oasis fed by an underground river from the Chyulu Hills. It's home to hippos and crocodiles, which can be observed through glass-bottomed observation tanks. The park is also home to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, a vital conservation area dedicated to the protection of the endangered black rhinoceros.

Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1 : Diani Beach – Tsavo East National Park

You picked up early in the morning and drive enter Tsavo with en-route game drive to your booked lodge or camp for lunch. After lunch followed by a game drive dinner and overnight at the booked Lodge or Camp in Tsavo East.

 

Day 2: Tsavo East – Tsavo West National Park

Early morning game drive before breakfast. Checkout and drive by road to Tsavo West. Game en-route arriving at the Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing with a visit of the Rhino Sanctuary. If you are lucky you might see the rare Rhino. Other animals you might see are Elephants, Giraffe, Lion, Zebra, Hyena etc. Dinner and overnight at booked Tsavo west Lodge / Camp

 

Day 3: Tsavo West – Taita Hills Game Sanctuary

Early breakfast, Game drive with a visit of Mzima Springs, where you can see hippos and fish in a crystalline clear water. There are possibilities of seeing crocodiles and monkeys. Drive with a game drive en route Salt lick game lodge.

Salt Lick game sanctuary, enter through Mwakitau gate and proceed to Taita Hills Game Lodge for lunch. Short relaxation will be followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Saltlick Lodge. The Taita Hills Salt Lick Game Lodge rooms are elevated on stilts, each overlooking a waterhole and linked by suspended walkways. At night, the waterholes are floodlit ensuring that you enjoy an uninterrupted view of the numerous animals arriving to quench their thirst.

 

Day 4 : Salt Lick Game Lodge – Diani Beach

Early morning game drive, followed by breakfast. After breakfast game drive en-route as you leave the park, before driving to your beach hotel arriving at lunch time afternoon. Drop off at your Coastal Beach Hotel.

Child Policy

At Felessy Tours and Safaris, we understand the importance of creating memorable family vacations. To ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for families with children, we have formulated the following children policy:

  1. Children below 3 years:
    • Children aged below 3 years old are welcomed with open arms and are eligible to travel free of charge when accompanied by at least one paying adult.
  2. Children between 3 and 13 years:
    • Children between the ages of 3 and 13 years will be charged at a discounted rate of 75 percent of the adult rate. This is our way of making family travel more accessible and affordable for parents with young children.
  3. Teens between 13 and 18 years:
    • Teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 years are considered young adults and will be subject to the full adult rate. This reflects our commitment to offering fair pricing while recognizing the changing needs and preferences of older children.

 

Booking Policy

Clients are supposed to make a 50 percent down payment to confirm their safari. The balance is paid either in cash or through credit card upon arrival in Kenya before commencement of the safari. Please note that credit card payment attracts an extra charge which is levied by the banks.
