2 Days Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks Kenya Luxury Safari Tour Package departing from Diani Beach, Mombasa, or Malindi Kenya – Felessy Tours & Safaris Kenya

Safari Highlights

Kenya, often referred to as the cradle of African wildlife, is home to a multitude of natural treasures, and the Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks are two of the country's crown jewels. These two sprawling wilderness areas, covering a combined 21,000 square kilometers, offer a captivating journey through diverse landscapes and an unforgettable safari experience. Let's delve into the allure of Tsavo East and West National Parks.

Tsavo East National Park: Where the Wild Roams Freely

Tsavo East National Park is the larger of the two, and it showcases the untamed spirit of the African wilderness. The landscape is characterized by vast open plains, rugged terrains, and the meandering Galana River, which is home to a thriving population of crocodiles and hippos.

One of the standout features of Tsavo East is the iconic red elephants, whose dusty appearance is a result of the region's unique crimson-hued soil. These majestic creatures roam freely across the park, giving you the opportunity to witness them in their natural habitat. The park is also home to other notable wildlife, including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and a stunning array of bird species.

For an unforgettable experience, visitors can explore the Yatta Plateau, one of the world's longest lava flows. The park also offers a chance to visit the Lugard Falls, a series of rapids along the Galana River, where you can marvel at the power of nature. Tsavo East National Park is also known for its incredible bird-watching opportunities, with over 500 species calling this park home.

Tsavo West National Park: A Landscape of Contrasts

On the other side of the coin, Tsavo West National Park offers a stark contrast to its eastern counterpart. The park boasts a diverse terrain that includes mountains, volcanoes, lush vegetation, and pristine lakes.

A prominent feature of Tsavo West is the imposing Mount Kilimanjaro, visible from many parts of the park. This makes it a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts. For those less inclined to trek, a visit to the Mzima Springs is a must. This oasis is fed by an underground river from the Chyulu Hills and is a sanctuary for hippos and crocodiles. Glass-bottomed observation tanks allow visitors to observe these aquatic giants in their element, providing a rare and immersive wildlife experience.

The park is also home to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, a vital conservation area that safeguards the endangered black rhino. Here, you can participate in night drives to spot these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. In addition to rhinos, Tsavo West is home to a wealth of wildlife, including cheetahs, leopards, and various antelope species.
