Abundant Wildlife: Tsavo East is celebrated for its significant elephant population, with herds often seen dusting themselves with the red soil. Beyond elephants, the park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and buffalo. The Galana River winds through the park, providing opportunities to observe crocodiles and hippos in their natural habitat. For bird enthusiasts, the park boasts a diverse avian population, with over 500 species to spot.

Unique Attractions: Tsavo East offers a range of unique attractions, such as the Yatta Plateau, one of the world's longest lava flows, and Lugard Falls, a series of rapids along the Galana River that showcase the power of nature. The Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, dedicated to the protection of the endangered black rhinoceros, adds to the park's allure.

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary: A Hidden Green Oasis

The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is nestled within the Taita Hills, a short distance from Tsavo East. This sanctuary offers a unique and contrasting safari experience compared to Tsavo East.

Lush Greenery: Taita Hills is characterized by lush vegetation, including forests and thickets. This lush green oasis creates a different ambiance and ecosystem, making it a haven for different wildlife species.

Intimate Encounters: The compact size of the sanctuary allows for close and intimate wildlife encounters. It's an excellent place to observe species like elephants, buffalo, leopards, and various antelope in their natural habitat. Birdwatchers will find ample opportunities to spot a variety of bird species, including many that are endemic to the region.

Salt Lick Lodge: One of the unique attractions in Taita Hills is the Salt Lick Lodge, a game-viewing lodge built atop a salt lick. The lodge's design and location offer guests the opportunity to observe wildlife up close as they come to the salt lick for essential minerals.

Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Diani Beach – Tsavo East National Park / Salt Lick

You will be picked from your Beach Hotel and drive by road to Tsavo east national park. Lunch at Tsavo east after which you drive you through Tsavo to Taita Sanctuary. Game drive in the sanctuary, dinner and overnight at at your booked accommodation.

 

Day 2: Salt Lick Sanctuary – Diani Beach

Early morning game drive in to the nearby private game sanctuary is followed by breakfast at Salt lick game sanctuary. Lunch is at where you booked your accommodation. Afterwards you drive back to the beach hotel. Arriving early evening. Drove off at your hotel.

Child Policy

At Felessy Tours and Safaris, we understand the importance of creating memorable family vacations. To ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for families with children, we have formulated the following children policy:

1. Children below 3 years:
   • Children aged below 3 years old are welcomed with open arms and are eligible to travel free of charge when accompanied by at least one paying adult.
2. Children between 3 and 13 years:
   • Children between the ages of 3 and 13 years will be charged at a discounted rate of 75 percent of the adult rate. This is our way of making family travel more accessible and affordable for parents with young children.
3. Teens between 13 and 18 years:
   • Teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 years are considered young adults and will be subject to the full adult rate. This reflects our commitment to offering fair pricing while recognizing the changing needs and preferences of older children.

 

Booking Policy

Clients are supposed to make a 50 percent down payment to confirm their safari. The balance is paid either in cash or through credit card upon arrival in Kenya before commencement of the safari. Please note that credit card payment attracts an extra charge which is levied by the banks.
