The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, nestled within the Taita Hills, offers a unique and contrasting safari experience compared to Tsavo East and Tsavo West.

Lush Greenery: Taita Hills is characterized by lush vegetation, including forests and thickets, creating a different ambiance and ecosystem. The sanctuary's compact size allows for close and intimate wildlife encounters, offering the chance to observe species like elephants, buffalo, leopards, and various antelope.

Salt Lick Lodge: The unique Salt Lick Lodge in Taita Hills is built atop a salt lick, providing guests with the opportunity to observe wildlife up close as they come to the salt lick for essential minerals.

Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1 : Diani Beach – Tsavo East National Park

Pick up from hotel of your stay and drive to the Tsavo East National Park. Enter the park through Bachuma Gate and commence your game viewing drive in search of Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalo etc. After lunch, you will have an afternoon game viewing. Dinner and overnight at your booked safari Camp or Lodge.

 

Day 2: Tsavo East – Taita Hills Salt Lick Game Lodge 

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Afterwards drive you through Tsavo to Saltlick/Taita Hills lodges sanctuary. Game drive in the sanctuary, dinner and overnight at Taita Hills/Salt Lick Lodges. Saltlick Lodge is a complex of roundavels sitting on stilts over a series of water holes which attract a huge number of animals. The two-storey towers are topped by thatch roofs and connected by open-air-bridges, creating an African fantasy of a medieval fortress. The lodge has been built with game viewing in mind - you can see animals in all directions because it offers spectacular open views. Dinner and overnight at your booked safari Camp or Lodge.

 

Day 3 : Taita Hills Salt Lick Game Lodge – Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast drive to Tsavo West with a game drive en-route arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive with a visit of the rhino Sanctuary whereby if you are lucky you might see the "shy" rhino. Other animals likely to be seen are Elephants, Lion, zebra, Buffalo etc. There exists a large variety of Bird species, migratory and local at the Tsavo West. Dinner and overnight at agreed Lodge or Camp.

 

Day 4 : Tsavo West National Park - Amboseli National Park

Early morning breakfast followed by a game drive en-route to Mzima springs where you have a chance to see hippos and crocodiles. The spring produces over one million litres of water per day. Drive to Chyulu gate checking out of Tsavo West driving to Amboseli with a convoy. You will have a stopover at Shetani Lava for photos and proceed to Kimana gate in Amboseli. Drive to the Kibo camp or Amboseli Sentrim Lodge for check-in and lunch Evening game drive till 6.30 pm then back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 5 : Amboseli National Park – Nairobi

You will wake up to an early morning game drive after which you will have you breakfast. You will leave for drive to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch.Lunch at Nairobi Carnivore restaurant https://www.tamarind.co.ke/carnivore/ afterwards drop off at your respective Nairobi hotel or Airport.

Child Policy

At Felessy Tours and Safaris, we understand the importance of creating memorable family vacations. To ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for families with children, we have formulated the following children policy:

  1. Children below 3 years:
    • Children aged below 3 years old are welcomed with open arms and are eligible to travel free of charge when accompanied by at least one paying adult.
  2. Children between 3 and 13 years:
    • Children between the ages of 3 and 13 years will be charged at a discounted rate of 75 percent of the adult rate. This is our way of making family travel more accessible and affordable for parents with young children.
  3. Teens between 13 and 18 years:
    • Teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 years are considered young adults and will be subject to the full adult rate. This reflects our commitment to offering fair pricing while recognizing the changing needs and preferences of older children.

 

Booking Policy

Clients are supposed to make a 50 percent down payment to confirm their safari. The balance is paid either in cash or through credit card upon arrival in Kenya before commencement of the safari. Please note that credit card payment attracts an extra charge which is levied by the banks.
