Safari Highlights

Tsavo East National Park: The Wild and Untamed

Spanning over 13,000 square kilometers, Tsavo East National Park is the largest national park in Kenya. Known for its untamed landscapes and striking red-earth terrain, it is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. The park is famous for its large elephant herds, and you'll often see them dusting themselves with the rich, red soil, creating a surreal sight.

Apart from elephants, Tsavo East is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and a myriad of bird species. The Galana River, which meanders through the park, is home to crocodiles and hippos, making it a great spot for riverine wildlife viewing.

The Yatta Plateau, one of the world's longest lava flows, and the Lugard Falls along the Galana River are must-see attractions. Tsavo East is also a bird-watcher's paradise, with over 500 species of birds to spot, making it a haven for ornithologists.

Tsavo West National Park: A Tale of Contrasts

On the other side of Tsavo East, you'll find Tsavo West National Park, known for its diverse landscapes. This park boasts everything from mountains, volcanoes, and lush vegetation to pristine lakes. Most notably, the towering Mount Kilimanjaro provides an awe-inspiring backdrop that can be seen from various points within the park, making it a popular destination for hikers and photographers.

Mzima Springs is another highlight in Tsavo West, where visitors can view hippos and crocodiles from underwater viewing chambers. The park is also home to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, a vital conservation area for endangered black rhinos.

Tsavo West is teeming with wildlife, including cheetahs, leopards, various antelope species, and a wealth of birdlife. The park's varied landscapes and contrasting environments make it a diverse ecosystem, contributing to the preservation of Kenya's natural heritage.

Amboseli National Park: The Land of Giants

Amboseli National Park, often referred to as the "Land of Giants," is a unique and picturesque destination located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. The iconic view of elephants against the backdrop of the snow-capped mountain is a sight to behold.

Amboseli is renowned for its large elephant population, offering unmatched opportunities for close encounters with these majestic creatures. Apart from elephants, the park is home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, and a variety of other wildlife. The swamplands in Amboseli attract a rich birdlife, including waterfowl and waders, making it a delight for bird-watchers.

One of the best ways to explore Amboseli is by embarking on a game drive or taking a guided nature walk. The park's observation points offer incredible views of Mount Kilimanjaro, especially in the morning when the mountain is often shrouded in a mystical haze.

Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Diani Beach – Tsavo West National Park

Pick up from your hotel/cottage in the morning and start the exciting journey inland via Mombasa.

Shortly before entering the Tsavo West National Park, take a short break, now we drive into the realm of wild animals.

The landscape of the park is very attractive, dense vegetation and green hills characterize the picture. Wild animals find enough hiding places, so every game drive becomes a surprise tour and you need a bit of safari luck.

Until noon you cruise through the park in search of photo motifs. Afterwards, check into Kilaguni Lodge or Severin Safari Camp, enjoy a tasty lunch and relax a little on the beautiful grounds.

After afternoon tea, the next game drive starts to the spring lake Mzima Springs with hippos and crocodiles in a pretty natural idyll.

On the way you will surely encounter animals in the wild, just keep an eye out! A great animal encounter can happen at any time!

At dusk the path leads back to the camp, you refresh yourself and enjoy the dinner and let the eventful day end relaxed under the starry sky.

African nights in camp surrounded by nature are magical!

Day 2: Tsavo West National Park – Amboseli National Park

Very early we undertake an early morning game drive, because the early hour is the active time of the big cats. We return for breakfast, now check out and drive the approximately 94 km route to Amboseli National Park. This drive passes through the Chyulu Hills and through Maasailand. You can make a short stop at Sheitani lava field if you wish.

A completely different landscape is presented in Amboseli National Park: huge herds of elephants leisurely traverse the flat, wide plains. Enjoy the land at the foot of Kilimanjaro and feel the magic!
You go on an exciting game drive until noon and then check into either Ol Tukai Lodge or Amboseli Serena Lodge for your accommodation.

Here you can spend your midday break with lunch, a refreshment in the pool and simply feel good!

The afternoon game drive takes you to the backdrop of the most popular photo opportunity, Mount Kilimanjaro!

In the evening we return to the lodge and spend another evening in an atmospheric atmosphere at dinner.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park – Tsavo East National Park

Today you start at daybreak for an interesting game drive. After breakfast, the safari continues to Tsavo East National Park.

As soon as you drive into the “Theatre of the Wilderness”, Kenya shows you its original side. The first game drive takes you through the middle of the national park to the Ashnil Lodge on the Aruba Dam. Here you strengthen yourself again with lunch, settle into your accommodation and spend the hours in tranquility until the afternoon game drive. From your room's patio, you have a beautiful view of the Aruba Dam, which is a magnet for numerous wildlife.

After the afternoon game drive, which is certainly exciting, you return home for a nice evening in the lodge with a view and celebrate the successful safari day.

Day 4: Tsavo East National Park – Diani Beach

After a cup of coffee/tea we set off at dawn for an early morning game drive, the best time of day to spot a big cat hunt! Afterwards there is a rich breakfast. We pack our luggage and check out. Until lunch we roam the park for a nice round on the hunt, then it's time to say goodbye to the wilderness.

After lunch the tour goes back to the coast via Mombasa to your hotel/cottage and in the late afternoon your driver bids you farewell. Kwaheri!!

This four-day safari takes you through different landscapes and offers you a successful mix of three national parks!
